Joe Welch

I was born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago and now live in southern New Mexico because I prefer not to be tortured all winter. My passion for photography started in high school when I got a Nikon Coolpix 5700 around 2004. After high school, I joined the Army and took a Nikon D200 on a deployment to Iraq (2006-2008). I took a long break from serious photography until April 2024, when I got my hands on a Fujifilm X100VI. I challenged myself to take and post at least one photo daily with the X100VI on Instagram for an entire year. This challenge has resulted in me being obsessed with photography again.
